Due to the golden variegated leaves, the Monstera deliciosa borsigiana 'Aurea' Variegated is also known as the Golden Variegated Monstera. Compared to the Monstera deliciosa borsigiana 'Albo' variegated, 'Aureas' are known for their slightly slower growth rate and more delicate nature. This variety requires a higher level of care compared to the more common 'Albo' because its leaves are very prone to browning. They also require higher light to bring out the golden colouring on the leaves. When a new leaf unfurls, the initial variegation on the new leaves is a lighter green colour that gradually matures to a rich yellow or gold hue over approximately five to six weeks.
